PREG TESTING

Pregnancy Testing is a fantastic tool that can be utilized for a broad range of management decisions. Determining a cows pregnancy status should be performed annually.

The different types of pregnancy testing that IVS can provide for your business are listed below:

- Pregnant/Empty

- Foetal Aging

- Ultrasound - 30 days

- Export/Sale PTIC/PTE certifications

ON-FARM CUSTOM BULL COLLECTION

On farm custom collection are where semen is collected from the bull then sent off to a lab for freezing. A great option to get some insurance for a valuable bull or also a way to increase the usage of a bull for the joining period by freezing some semen and performing an AI program.

SEMEN TESTING

Semen Testing is a very useful tool that should be performed annually to assess a bulls fertility.

A VBBSE (Veterinary Bull Breeding Soundness Examination), is a thorough examination which the bull undergoes a physical examination, semen motility assessment and a semen morphology assessment. This gives us a complete picture of the bulls capability to conceive calves.

FIXED TIME ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION (FTAI)

FTAI is where all cows reproductive cycle are synchronized using hormones which allows artificial insemination to occur during a specific window. At IVS we have tailored programs specific for you herds needs.

MOET EMBRYO FLUSHING

Multiple Ovulation Embryo Transfer (MOET) is the process where cows are super-ovulated which results in them producing more than one ovum which is what occurs during the normal cycle. Once super-ovulated the cow is artificially insemination. After 7 days the embryos are then 'flushed' out of the cow and can be either transferred into a recipient cow or frozen to be implanted at a later date.

EMBRYO TRANSFER

Embryo transfer is when the frozen or fresh embryo is taken and transferred into a recipient cow. The recipient cow will also be synchronized and the embryo transferred seven days after she cycles. This is because the embryo has been retrieved from a uterine environment that is seven days old so it need to be replicated in the recipient cow to ensure the best change that it will take.

HERD HEALTH & DISEASE INVESTIGATIONS

IVS can provide testing for herd health surveillance for reproductive diseases such as Lepto, Vibrio, BVDV (pesti) and Trichomonas. We can also provide advice and recommendations on the best vaccination protocols for your herd. Sudden onset disease investigations can also be completed.

WILLIS SPAYING

Willis spaying (also known as the dropped ovary) is often used when control of bulls is limited. A great tool in Northern Australia for cull heifers to allow them to grow out without becoming pregnant.
